What the simple payback leaves out

This calculator isolates labor savings because labor is often the largest controllable difference between manual cleaning and an automatic scrubber. It is not a complete ownership forecast. Add batteries, charger, pads or brushes, squeegee blades, detergent, preventive service, repair risk, financing and downtime before approving a purchase.

Use measured current labor hours and a realistic proposed route time rather than brochure productivity. Include setup, pre-sweeping, filling, dumping, rinsing and charging. Run conservative and expected cases, then test whether the decision changes when wages, battery life or weekly use varies. A fast payback estimate is only credible when the route can actually use the machine’s capacity and the saved labor can be reassigned or removed.
