Concrete is not one surface

Polished concrete can lose gloss under an overly aggressive pad or chemical. Coated concrete depends on the coating maker’s care instructions. Porous unfinished concrete may hold soil and water in texture that a smooth-floor squeegee cannot recover completely.

Identify the finish before choosing pressure or chemistry. When records are unavailable, start in an inconspicuous area with a conservative pad and neutral, low-foam solution approved for the machine.

Texture changes recovery

A flexible or specialized squeegee may track textured surfaces better than a stiff blade, but no setup recovers water from every pit and joint. Plan extra passes or spot pickup where puddling occurs.

Dry grit is abrasive. Pre-sweeping protects polished finishes and reduces the chance that particles become trapped beneath the pad.
